Shadow of the Colossus (Playstation 4)


As a character artist, I worked on many of the colossi (2, 7, 8, 13, & 16) from start to finish.  The work involved sculpting high-resolution model in Zbrush and transferring the sculpted detail to a game ready model. Because of the enormous scale of Colossus 13 and 16, sculpted tiling textures was used instead.  The texturing process was done using Substance Designer and Substance Painter.  Grooming the fur on the colossi involved the use of vertex colors to control the density, length, and clumping. Besides the colossi, I was also responsible for the character Mono. I worked with both art directors from Bluepoint Games and Japan Studio to get the style and look right. The other aspect of the art I worked on were the hair textures of Wander and Agro, Wander's main tabard texture, and preorder and limited edition weapons.
